These contemporary portraits by Australian artist Leni Kae take a journey into self reflection. Leni Kae applies the use of flowing lines and a focus on colour and light to express the subject’s reflective and emotive state. Long hair flows like lines of thought in the subject’s fragile yet journey of reflection. Through liberating emotion however, the subject is also portrayed as strong. The portraits essentially portray a sense of acceptance of the ‘feminine’ as a sign of strength and self-liberation. They beg the viewer to ‘feel’ and ‘reflect’ inwardly as a path to outward expression and liberation.
